And on behalf of Him,
during his age of minority
The Regent Queen of the
Realm
As the job of Captain of
the Navy’s Marine Infantry has to be granted to a courageous
person, with merits and services, and in attention that in your
person those circumstances concur, you the Lieutenant of the
mentioned Army Corps Mr. José Negrao y Escobar, and the
distinguished services that you have always served, wishing that
you will continue with the same attitude, I have decided to
chose and promote as Captain of the above mentioned Corps by
resolution of 11 September 1894, with this same date effect, and
I give you and conceed all honours, preeminencies and exenctions
that due to this job, correspond to you, in the same way that
the Ordinances and Rules indicate.
Therefore, I order to my
General officials and others of all the Corps of the Navy, to
all of the different Corps of the Armies and Military
Institutions, Intendents, Ministers, Authorities and the rest of
officials of other branches to recognize you the aforesaid Mr.
José Negrao y Escobar, as a Captain of the Marine Infantry
keeping all distinctions and making all Navy dependants to obey
the order you may give them in written or by word as well as you
would obey those from the more graduated officers, as the
Ordinances establish. And that presented this document, signed
by Me, and co-signed by the Minister of the Navy, with the “to
be accomplished” of the Admiral of the Navy addressed to the
General Intendent, establishes that would be recorded in the
Central Register and proceed with the stipulated in the Rules in
order to get the corresponding salary.
